Newsletter Trends

It’s critical for any business owner to pay attention to newsletter trends as they come and go. Newsletters continue to be one of the best ways to interact with customers. In 2021, there are three major trends to look out for and add to your business newsletter.

How often should you send a newsletter?

The amount of newsletters you send out depends on your specific business and audience. If you are constantly updating your product catalog or adding new items to buy, weekly newsletters are acceptable. Otherwise, keep your newsletters to once or twice a month. Keep an eye on your campaigns and analytics to find the best consistency rate for your business.

Newsletter Trends in 2021

This year, upgrade your newsletters and convert casual followers to customers in the process by taking advantage of these three newsletter trends: sending more content frequently, embedding  video to play within the newsletters, and always ensuring that you have some form of interactive content included.

1. Short and Frequent Newsletters

Keep all your newsletters short, to the point, and frequent. People open newsletters because of the subject and they want to find that information quickly. We have seen in our newsletter that by providing them with what they are expecting as quickly as possible leads to higher click through rates.  Shorter newsletters have been shown to have higher click-through rates than longer ones. It might also help to bold any important phrases or keywords for those of your audience who skim through paragraphs. A table of content is a great way to get them to the content they are looking for faster.

2. Utilize Embedded Video Player Features

Using embedded video players in your newsletter is a great way to increase engagement. Video is one of the best ways to interact with your audience, so having a play button on the video in the newsletter allows users to seamlessly click to play and have the video open in a new window.

3. Add Quizzes and Survey’s

Knowing what your audience is thinking about helps you grow your business and direct your marketing efforts. Add a quiz or survey, with a prize they can win if they’re participate is a great way to get this information. This prize can be anything from gift cards to free digital downloads! You can use data gained from these surveys and quizzes to really find out what’s working and what’s not, while also continuing to keep your audience greatly engaged.
